I’m naturally a huge yapper and use Lemmy almost like a public diary. That tends to spark a lot of discourse about me, which draws in a lot of toxicity. When it gets to be too much, I feel the need to delete everything, take a break, and start fresh. (For the record, I’ve never been banned, not even from a single community, let alone an instance, lol.)
What they don’t explain is why they need a “fresh start”. Given that they don’t change their habits or hide who they are, what’s the point other than to re-flood people’s timelines? If anything, each new attempt comes with a higher level of intentionally provocative posts. See this post for example: “yeah so I’m fucking a father and son at the same time y’all isn’t that bold of me?!”
You’d think they don’t want to hear from people who blocked them, but I think it’s the opposite. They just enjoy fucking with people and then feigning innocence.
At times this place appears to be full of morons, at times the opposite. It’s baffling and I cannot say anything more than “it’s better than other places”.

And no nothing about any of these posts is “funny”… or entertaining in the slightest, hence the need to regain people’s attention who blocked them, by forcing them to at least look once more before blocking the 7th time. It’s pretty sad actually.
Edit: after 3 years here I finally found a use for my client’s “mute user” feature. Unfortunately this stupid shit has caused me to never see a post from anyone else with violet in their username either. It’s a reasonable ask for them not to keep changing accounts. And the only reason one would have to change accounts repeatedly is to avoid bans/blocks. Shouldn’t be controversial at all, just keep the same damned account and people can easily just block you if they want.
