> Wake up from alarm
> Checks time, can make it to work in time if I get up now
> proceeds to snooze alarm 3 more times
> show up to work late
> Rinse and repeat
proceeds to snooze alarm 3 more times
Or, more precisely, lost track of time completing prepatory tasks and still showed up late.
i saw this post 25 minutes ago, i am just commenting now
If I have more than 4 comment replies in the morning I get overwhelmed and just sit there and stare at them. They slowly get more numerous. The other day I looked and there were 60. This legit almost made me panic. I’m a grown woman with real stress to be worried about and still with this bullshit.
i relate so hard it hurts
It’s 8:22 right now. My kid just got on the bus to school. I went inside to get my bag to go to work. And now I’m sitting in my chair thinking this exact same thing. Shit.
This is even more poignant if you work from home.
~Not that I speak from experience.~
~Ok, I speak from experience.~
Need to develop an unhealthy amount of aniexty about being late, then that first frame would be panic rushing out of the house because on time is late.
Yup. If I’m not 15 minutes early, I’m late.
Panicked about everything is my default state.
What an adorable butt.
Into smurfs?
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I’m the complete opposite, I’m pacing around waiting for the time to leave
In my experience, that’s a coping strategy to make sure I don’t do the thing in the comic.
Supposed to be in at work at 8, brain starts pacing in worry at around 11pm the night before. “If I don’t fall asleep I won’t wake up on time”. 3:00, “ugh I don’t have enough hours to sleep well but if I don’t fall asleep now I’ll never get up!”. 5:00 "shit it might be better I just start up!). 6:30, “God I’m exhausted let me close my eyes for 30 minutes…”
I for some reason did this in my late teens, was fine from about 22-33 and now suddenly in my mid to late 30s (37) its back and feel stressed as ever about it
I work from home and this still happens
If work wanted me to turn up on time they’d pay me more.
Nevermind that the far likelier outcome of that stance is that they’ll opt to pay you nothing. 🥲
I can definitely identify with the “I’d rather be anywhere but there” feeling lately. That might not be an ADHD meme.
I guess it depends on interpretation. When I do this irl, it’s more of a time-blind dissociation thing. Even for places I want to be!
I know the feeling. I’m looking at routes to get to work, and I have spent too much time planning, and got to work late.
