It’s awesome and Lemmy is wrong to hate and denounce the genuinely good outputs of frontier models. There is enough wrong with LLMs and the companies behind them that is fair to criticise. Lemmy puts human made code on a pedestal, but look at the certificate and php stuff this week, all human errors…
Idk, I’ve used it for a bunch of weekend projects and it works for me. It’s like hating on hammers because you guys are all screwdriver elites. Everything is automatically slop if it’s an LLM…
It’s because Lemmy is full of communists and furry artists that fear for their livelihood. They imagine human code as something divine, when in reality it’s cobol code that can’t even get leap year calculation right. And didn’t for 5 decades.
Could also be because AI slop is made by industrial plagiarism on a scale you likely fail to comprehend.
The equivalent of a joke thief’s joke being funny when you do not know it is stolen and have not heard it told by the original comedian. “That Carlos Mencia is a genius. His domination of comedy is inevitable.”
I do comprehend it and the output in code is still good enough or better than human output, at least in some cases. As I said, there is plenty to critique, but output quality isn’t anymore with code. Regarding art, I just don’t care about it.
I mean the first part is true for some but not all, but maybe after you experience memory leaks that slow your pc down to a crawl so slow that you can’t even close it, maybe then you will realize that ai is just autocorrect on steroids.
Maybe I actually use that shit for actual work and it works for me. Again, complain about ecological impact and copyright, but don’t start a holy war about a tool…
The reason why is that AI is helping write code faster now. What are your thoughts on this, OP?
Can’t you ghouls just leave it alone for 5 minutes without making everyone miserable?
What in the world are you on about?
Okay let’s say it again in easy to understand words.
You’re being annoying and nobody likes it.

Look, I agree with you. However, most people here don’t, and I’m not sure why.
