I can’t imagine the venn diagram of people who still use discord and people who game on linux has that much of an overlap does it? Like cmon it’s got to be the worst possible of all the options. You’d be more secure sending a plaintext email to someone.

I’m 34 years old so not exactly young but I have dozens of IRL friends in a few different parts of the country that the only way I keep in touch with them is via one discord server. I’m not about to just abandon friendships over a line in the sand like this. It’s not as easy as people make it out to be to just get them all to switch to matrix. There’s also a lot of “friends of friends” in there so it’d be extra cumbersome to get people to switch. And plenty of them are not exactly technical inclined about using computers, etc.
