10-24-26 Brazil - Large crane fell from private land onto elevated train track in Sao Paulo - Angle 2
A large crane from the company Cortesia Concreto (Cortesia Equipamentos) fell from private land onto the elevated track of the monorail Line 15-Prata on Professor Luiz Ignácio Anhaia Mello Avenue, in the east zone of Sao Paulo, near São Lucas park.
The Line 15-Prata train traveling through the area struck the tip of the equipment that was on the track, causing part of the structure to fall onto the avenue.
No fatalities or serious injuries were reported among the train passengers.
The crane operator received medical assistance from the company.
A driver who was in the area (whose vehicle was hit and got trapped among cables) suffered minor injuries after moving away just before the impact.
The fall also affected trees, power lines (managed by Enel) and the wall of a local business.
Line 15-Prata service was partially interrupted between Vila Prudente and São Lucas stations, operating with support from emergency buses of the Paese system.
