Looking at my lemmy.world profile while logged in on lemmy.world and while logged in on r1b.it things look very different. Most of my posts are totally missing and it doesn’t show any of my posts to communities on .world or .blahaj.zone for example and when I try to post to those communities with my r1b.it account (the one I’m posting from now) it is like those communities don’t exist.

This is very strange because I do see other lemmy.world communities and I know we are federated with them. Is this intentional or is this a bug?

Certainly a bug. I’m in a lot of those same communities, and I seem to be getting content just fine.

I’ll add this to my to-do list, but one thing you could try in the mean time is going to, say, !rpgmemes@ttrpg.network, on it’s home instance, copy the direct link to a recent post, and searching it in the top search bar on r1b.it. That will force r1b.it to pull down not only that post, but also other recent ones. It’s worked here and there for me in the beginning when I was having the same issues.

Ohh! That does force it to pull the post and the community. Stuff is still weird with just one upvote for everything but it is an improvement. Thank you.

I have found that saving a post (you can immediately unsave it) causes votes and comments to be fetched.

          Good tip! Thank you

Checked it though and it didn’t seem to work. Oh well

Yup! Anytime. You won’t get existing upvotes and comments, but as new ones come in, you should get them. It’s not perfect, but it’s something. I appreciate you dealing with the issues of a teeny tiny instance! I wouldn’t be offended if you don’t daily-drive it for a minute until it’s a bit better. I will say, though, the more active users, the better Federation will get
