The title is not a joke. For those of you who know Sentry, you know we’ve been giving back to Open Source maintainers since our early days in whatever ways we could. But around five years ago we really started to give in a more meaningful way. This year we increased our budget from $750,000 to $1,000,000.
The link doesn’t open for me. In the past I would automatically celebrate this but until I know they’re not donating to fashware FOSS I’ll hold off.
Quickly glancing over the listed projects and orgs it seems fine to me. So I guess yay a small win in these trying times.
You probably have some sort of blocker. Everything related to sentry is usually blocked either by ublock, adguard or pi hole
Edit: stupid phone autocorrected corrections
Check your autocorrect…
Possibly. I use Firefox focus with Safari to block content. Odd that it’s never happened before though. I’ve had this setup for several years now.
Edit: it works fine on my desktop!
A shame that people misusing analytic and telemetry. They do provide very useful information for developer when shit goes wrong. But the same data is also very valuable for profiling the person using the program
cause its a tracker/ad company, and your setup at home works as intended.

It does for me.
(I’m in Canada, FWIW.)
Thanks for the heads up. I’m in Ireland and on mobile (iOS, so Safari and Firefox). I’ll try on desktop when I can.
1/2 of the money was distributed through here https://thanks.dev/o/sentry-261019
The rest went to foundations like Python, Django and Rust, and individual projects like FFmpeg, jellyfin and FreeCAD.
Hot damn, that’s a ton of unrelated project to them and they still do it. Good for them
I appreciate that. This does look like good news!
Sadly, I don’t see any small projects on there. The little guy in Nebraska still gets nothing :(
Does RubyCentral have anything to do with DHH or are these the good folks?
