Data centers not owned by the Russian state will have 24 hours to provide access to 10% of their capacity if they are called upon.

    Out of curiosity, how do you envision the Internet existing without data centers? Everyone hosts their own servers at home?

      Yes, but first devs need to build with that in mind;

      • Mastodon vs gotosocial
      • nextcloud vs copyparty/syncthing + radicale
      • graphana + prometheus vs bezsel

      Going beyond framework/language/setup the coming of mastodon relays are a direct result of enough people hosting gotosocial themselves (equity vs equality).

      Yes power law will continue to exist but we can make less of the pie dependent on datacenters.
