You know what? I think this is justified usage. The average person won’t have a good way to interpret joules or watts, especially on the 16-18 gigawatt scale. Props they include the actual number in the article btw.
I wonder if a typical steel mill is in the same range. They produce plenty of waste heat all the time, so why not compare a data centre with that? Also, nuclear reactor dumps plenty of heat into the environment continuously, so that would be a good comparison as well. Nukes make sexy headlines though, so can’t blame the editor.
ive interacted with the same number of steel mills as atomic bomb
LOL. Same.
Anyway, you do know that a steel mill probably exists within 500 km of where you live. You can also be pretty sure you don’t have nuclear explosions anywhere that close. You would have definitely noticed.
23 atomic bombs of energy could heat about 1M tea kettles.
It’s fair game, you need that amount of energy to feed all those waifus.
Climate change is a hoax anyway, and the AIs living in this one will prove it!
This is tricked up. To what ends?
So the problem will fix itself. I assume it will stop running if we’re not here to press the reset button after a Windows nightly update.
