Yup! I’m not quite sure what kind specifically, but based on appearance and my location, I’m guessing a common house gecko. Could be a young mourning gecko, but I doubt it

We always wanted to get some free-roaming geckos at our place, but we always had cats, so seemed like a bad idea.

I would absolutely love that, though! I’m not super educated on geckos, but they’re one of my favorite reptiles, especially the giant colorful ones
It was a long time ago, but what I remember reading was that geckos like to hang out on walls and ceilings, so the likelihood of stepping on them is low. And they keep themselves fed by eating the bugs in your house.
I fear you may have kicked off my next micro-obsession
