I know we’re already half-way through October, but I want to start a little tradition where we nominate and vote for a species to feature each month. I’ll then do some research and make a cute little post about them (your help is greatly appreciated!).

So, let’s begin the nominations for October’s species of the month! To make a nomination, simply create a post in !marine featuring your nominee. And think of more than just fish! I’ll take anything that lives in the water, from aquatic mammals to deep-sea bacteria. You don’t have to explicitly mention “species of the month”, either – it could be an article, appreciation post, or something else entirely.

You have until the first of the month when I make the post! I’ll be sure to make a follow-up post beforehand with a handful of the most popular species that I’ve noticed
