Why cook at all if you’re going to willingly give up the pleasure of using fire the way our ancestors did since before they were even human? You might as well just suck nutritive slurry from a nozzle.

My parents, grandparents, and maybe my great grandparents used gas. All my other ancestors used wood. I cook with the power of science on my induction range because I’d rather not drown in carcinogens in my own home for the sake of boiling a pot of water and I’m not a fucking troglodyte.

I am using fire. The fire of a raging ball of plasma millions of miles wide, so hot that it evaporates surface water here on Earth, sending rains falling inland that coalesce into a mighty river flowing through massive turbines to turn the generators that power my stovetop.

using fire the way our ancestors did

Motherfucker, your ancestors didn’t have natural gas lines that could be ignited with the flick of a switch.

If you want to use fire the way our ancestors did, you need to start by going outside, digging a hole, and then gathering firewood. If you’re not doing that, then fuck off with this ‘ancestors’ bullshit.

Electrical is both inferior and superior to gas, depending on the application. To each their own according to preference, but for me it’s induction -> gas -> halogen -> resistive coils
