I welcome anyone to come to the good side and encourage the healthy policies that work and people want them when asked about them.

2·1 day agoThis would be cool and should do it before '28, but it would probably get held up in courts. Another thing to do is increase the number Reps. Offer ranked choice voting. Make fair districts in all states decided by bipartisan groups and campaign finance reform like MT’s voters passed*. Things that improve elections for We The People, and less annoying bs ads should be supported by everyone. All but the wealthy owners who want to keep their massive benefits over the majority, and too many destitute folks support that and dig their own holes deeper, but can choose to stop.

politics @lemmy.world•Say Goodnight, New Democrats. It’s the Era of the New New Democrats.
1·2 days agoThey made bad choices last time and decided they better show up and proved it works. At the same time keep expectations realistic. Understand what they can and can’t do w/o presidency and 60 Senators.

politics @lemmy.world•Pete Hegseth stares down likely impeachment vote. And he's not the only one
0·2 days agoNeed 2/3 in Senate to convict still, unfortunately. If House impeaches but never get convictions in these cases, then Dems will get blamed rather than maga for not removing. They need to be smart about what they do and if possible to explain the process clearly and often, strategy and why they can’t pass whatever they want and maga is the blockage to progress as usual.
Most bills can be blocked by the filibuster and need 60 votes to advance so all seats matter. Like all votes matter, and the more the better to pass bills that the majority wants, even if the rapist vetoes them. End healthcare bankruptcies, pass paid work leave, higher wages, etc. and show what could have been with a Dem president and enough congress, and a better leader than chuck.
Maybe the joke is that the comments would quibble over details that are fleeting in time and transcend operating systems instead.

It is fun to ponder how the hydrogen from the very start is in us now, and was in comets, dinosaurs and giant trees that died long ago and gave up their elements that could be in us now. As wise people said, “You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop” and “We are a way for the universe to know itself… on this pale blue dot.”
