The path forward is obvious. We let Sauron retain full power for another two years. Let the people experience a little more darkness while we clean house. Get our own ranks in order. Get rid of all those unity-chasing wackos that are tearing our Fellowship apart. Then we can return with a strong, sensible, moderate alliance that isn’t beholden to a bunch of radical trees demanding free sunlight.
Remember, our goal isn’t simply to defeat evil. It’s to defeat evil in a way that won’t force us to then listen to the people who helped us win.
