There are a few signs which becomes obvious once you’ve seen lots of LLM text. For example lots of usage of the long dash symbol, the word “actually” all the time. Overuse of the word “honest”. And more.
You can copy and paste their text into gptzero.me to get a report. Here is an example

Over on piefed.social I banned about 5 new accounts in the last week because their first post was LLM generated link spam.
It’s a real problem.
In PieFed there’s a setting that makes it so that a new account’s first post is held back for review by admins before it goes public. It cuts down on stuff like this.

Thanks :) I can’t tell you how long I’ve spent subscribing to as many communities as I can and interacting with posts. Not for the love of doomscrolling or anything (though, I do love a good scroll), but purely to establish those federation links, lol
I wanted to be honest, though. Subbing to every single community felt obnoxious and dishonest, so I kept within my interests. It paid off, though! I actually care about the content on my feed, and I’m getting a lot of like-minding individuals flooding in. Most everyone who has passed through has been super passionate about their interests (both r1b.it-related and not) and very positive – exactly what I like to see. You’re a perfect example, my friend ;) Thank you for your expressed support!

Yes, I understand. Someone on Hexbear had made a bot to subscribe to everything on the fediverse accessible by HB to make sure everything was visible by default, so, I’m not sure what happened with that but that’s a possibility if you’d like. Maybe the code is out there somewhere?
