Gorgons are Greek and rattlesnakes are found exclusively in North America.

This doesn’t even account for the fact that all of those rattles would be horribly impractical given they’d be embedded in her head.

Has to be at least 15 years. Probably 20 or more.

I still have a few floppies somewhere around here, but haven’t had a drive that can read them since I donated an ancient laptop to a friend of a relative.

I don’t feel like splashing out £12 for a USB floppy drive right now.

Other people mention 5¼" floppies for old 8-bit computers, and I suppose I do have my old computer and drive packed away somewhere, but I haven’t touched any of that in over 20 too. I’d be surprised if any of that still works and I’m kind of afraid to find out for sure.

That’s a term, sure, but it’s even less likely to make the anti-demotionists happy.

“M(u)z” is also common. The vowel quality is tricky to spell. What there is of it is the unstressed central vowel heard in most varieties of English, which may or may not be that identified as a schwa. Actually pronouncing the ‘i’ of “mizz” may be seen as trying too hard, where it wouldn’t be in “miss”.

Pluto is a dwarf planet. “Planet” is right there in the name, so yes, it’s literally a planet.

Ceres is also a planet. You’ll be including that one too, right?

Among those, “crank” stands out. This is usually someone who holds a (often provably) wrong, unconventional or unpopular opinion and insists that their way is the right way and that everyone else is wrong.

Cranks can be right, which a crank will hold onto dearly and use in their arguments, even if the considerable majority of cranks turn out to have been wrong.

On the other hand, cranks tend to beat their metaphorical drum a lot more than someone who simply refuses to pick a side and keeps their trap shut.

I was going to riff on whether this was Sadako (Original Japanese character) or Samara (US adaptation) on account of the English reply, but while I was looking into things I learned what happened to the actress who played Samara and I don’t feel like joking around any more.

And thus was birthed… the horse.

The more you think about it the more it makes sense.

I made the same mistaken assumption not too long ago. HML did die for a while, but it’s been resurrected. It’s a little odd as choices go, but as an Ubuntu derivative it’s probably not deserving of its “review” in the video.
